W E L C O M EWe are all volunteers. We are all on very low incomes. Some of us are homeless.
This website is a labor of love and justice --- but we need help getting the word out. Judith Davidoff's contribution is our biggest breakthrough!! We thank her from the bottom of our hearts. Thanks for reading our website and signing our petition. God bless America! Click on the page entitled "Contact Form" --- under "More" --- to send us an email.
Also, click here to print your own flyer. You can distribute it anyplace and everywhere possible. We are working on a Spanish version, and hope to have that online in a few days. ~~~~ Friends and Family of Alex Timofeev |

Thanks also to Isthmus editor and publisher Vince O'Hern, for mentioning Alex by name, in connection with Independence Day, in his column Making the Paper, entitled "Freedom for Some" in the issue of July 5th.
On page 2, Mr. O'Hern writes:
I unabashedly admit that I've drunk the Kool-Aid of personal freedom, thinking I should have all the rights and protections afforded me under the Bill of Rights anywhere I happen to be in the world. I also believe that anyone in the world, no matter what their nationality, should have the same rights. But of course they don't.
And sometimes people living in this country do not have them. Take, for instance, the case of Alex Timofeev, the subject of news editor Judith Davidoff's cover story this week. The future facing him is chilling and, under stringent immigration law currently in effect, largely beyond his ability to influence.
Click here to email a letter to the editor. Or write: Isthmus, 101 King Street., Madison WI 53703. Include name (to publish), address and phone number (for verification). Letters should respond to published content, be 200 words or less, and are subject to editing.

Potentially Good News.On May 20th, I went up to the Court of Appeals Clerk's office, to see the record in this case. They told me it was at the court right now, because there was a motion pending.
I said, "What motion? The court already granted their motion to consolidate all three cases?" The guy at the counter said they filed a motion to extend time to file the opening brief. So, now the opening brief is due on June 20th, instead of May 20th. At the very least, that will give us another 30 days before the Court of Appeals issues a decision -- (but, we're hoping it doesn't come down to that, because we hope the Attorney General's office will withdraw the appeal long before then.) UPDATE: July 5, 2013 Just found out from the article in the Isthmus that the DA has asked for yet another extension for the opening brief. Now the opening brief is due in one week, July 12. This gives us even more time. |
